The people you have to fear most
when you run outreach programs
for the poor, or the transgender,
or the pregnant children aren't
the diehard opposition --
they're the people
about to use the programs
and come in peaceably,
the ones on the brink,
the ones who,
through their own windows,
throw bricks.
